Yasur and during the evening you can watch the volcano spit red ash into the air! The food was absolutely delicious!! Thank you so much to Lina for preparing delicious meals where you can choose between a vegetarian and non vegetarian option! Sleeping inside the tree house is an experience and adventure on its own! We definitely recommend staying at least for 2-3 nights to also enjoy the beautiful surroundings! There are no other tourists around for miles! The drive from the west coast or from the airport to the bungalows are a crazy adventure and totally worth paying the 5000 Vatu (2500VUV if there are more than one person) - you need 4x4 Drive to get there - it is literally impossible to get there otherwise - you will cross rivers, volcanic ash, lush jungle streets! Just Amazing!! No other drivers will take you there so just pay the 5000 Vatu and let Mike or his Dad Sam come get you. Don’t stay at any of the fancy resorts on Tanna - if you really want to experience an amazing and authentic time in Tanna then you should definitely stay with Mike and his family! Would stay there every time!

Located at Ipak Bay, North Tanna, Rockwater Resort features a private beach and landscaped gardens. Return airport transfers are included upon request from the property. Rockwater Resort is an absolute diamond find! The attention to detail in everything from the guest interactions, the room, the food and the resort itself. I spent three days in this gorgeous place, not only doing the Tanna Island top sights (Mt Yasur volcano, Blue Cave, traditional village tour and the Giant Banyan tree), but simply spending time around the resort by the pool with a book or snorkelling off the front cliffs. Silvana and John are absolutely beautiful hosts with their care and attention for the experience of your own and other guests with the island and Vanuatu as a whole.

A rustic small resort that has stunning sea views and basic bungalows. Perfect for budget tavellers. Tom and his family were very hospitable. We fell in love with this place.

Situated in Loanengo, Glowing Mountain view tree house features accommodation with a public bath and an open-air bath. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. The hospitality of Philip, Susan and their sons was absolutely incredible. They were so gracious with their time without being over bearing on your privacy. This is the spot to stay when checking out the volcano side of Tanna. You will have everything you need to see the vanuatu culture from the perfect location. For reasonable rates, the hosts will take care of any other logistic you need. -Set up the 2 hour car ride to and from the airport. -Local recipe dinners by Susan and she’s a great cook. I believe they offered lunch as well but I was going on these great adventures they offer to guide you through: -A local village that will show you dances and rituals of their indigenous culture -A hot spring heated river that flows into the ocean overlooking the volcano -And of course, the hike to the rim of the volcano. I had so much time to chat with the family and they are all so kind. I don’t leave reviews, I was very compelled on this one. Stay in this treehouse. Friendly reminder to grab cash and break it down in Port Vila or at the market in Tanna.

Really great place to stay on Tanna, our host John was one of the friendliest persons I’ve ever met. He really welcomed us with open arms and organised everything we wanted to do on the island for us. He showed us the real original Vanuatu 10/10
