I love our two-story house with 2 bedrooms, complete kitchen, and 1.5 bath. Feels like home. I got to cook heavy breakfast, packed lunch and snacks for our whole day hiking in Yellowstone. Surprised there was a roll-up bed for 5th person. We slept comfortably. They let us borrow a couple of bear spray so don't have to buy one. Fortunately, we didn't use it and we just returned it during check out.

I didn't get a chance to hike or to enjoy the museums that were offered in this amazing place. Did see the falls! I can only say that Montana has so much to offer and you will not regret visiting Great Falls.
Beautiful and unique city and community. Friendly service staff. Outstanding meal and evening at the Montana Ale House.
We normally drop down to Coeur d'Alene and Spokane and decided to try something different. On the whole we prefer that area but feel we might like to return to Great Falls to spend some time taking in Montana's history and sights. Ultimately, we will go back to the Coeur d'Alene area. This is very flat land with almost desert like conditions in a lot of areas but the drive down from Great Falls to Helena has some spectacular views of the rock formations and the Missouri River. Again, we would like to see some of the historical sites.
We only spent one night in Helena on our road trip and had dinner at the Silver Star. We had a lovely meal there - the best by far in a week of travelling across Washington, Idaho and Montana. Highly recommend it.
Perfect location for hikers, but much of interest in town too for non-sporty types: Museum of the Rockies, Gallatin History Museum (even better); lively, functioning Main St with pioneer era commercial buildings and good shops (Varga Books, Ace Hardware) ; extensive, fascinating, leafy villa areas (nil high-rise in town); great and varied places to eat (Plonk, 14 North, Montana Alehouse).
When we arrived in Missoula, there were dangerous smoke levels from wild fires in the area. The air quality was so bad that I had to have a mask on to be outside with my asthma so mainly we couldn't see or do anything for our overnight stop. I am so sad for all living there and affected by it. I am praying for Montana and rain for the whole area. It's sad!!
The City is nice and traffic is manageable. Love the Yellowstone river. Smoke from forest fires out west was heavy this time, but generally there are typical big Montana blue skies here.
Bozeman is an excellent western town with plenty to see, especially the Museum of Rocky. The whole town is surrounding Montana State University, making it a very cosy and friendly toen. Also restaurants are excellent! Also it is an excellent stay for visiting Yellowstone Park.
Bozeman is a great place to venture out and see all of the beauty that is Montana! A scenic drive through paradise valley will bring you to the North entrance of Yellowstone National Park. winter or summer this town has great access to everything you could want outdoors. from skiing to fishing to hiking or white water rafting. whatever your passion is Bozeman is not too far away from everything.
West Yellowstone is literally the gate way to the national park. You can get to the majority of Wyoming and Montana from here . Plan your trip in advance if you can there are numerous online sites you can visit that will help with this like Pinterest . The best time to enter the park is as early as possible to avoid the crowds and you will get to see early feeding animals as well without the crowds blocking your view. The park is full of adventures for everyone to enjoy from climbing to walking to fishing ,cycling ,animal and bird watching or watching the sunset over the mountains Yellowstone is what you want it to be if you want to make it happen.you just have to be prepaired to try it. Overall what ever you do in west Yellowstone will stay with you for a long time to come the adventure has only just begun. Enjoy.
Whitefish
This stay was amazing from the minute we pulled into the parking lot. It’s a beautiful little lodge, and feels like you are living in Montana (not just at a random hotel that could be in any city). The environment constantly reminded us of the beauty of the area. The staff treated you like family, cooked for you, and couldn’t have been more accommodating. I would stay here again, and have already recommended The Duck Inn to friends and family. They went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional.
West Yellowstone
I have no complaints about this little hotel. Rooms were small but as expected. The receptionist was super sweet and a nice personalized note in our room was a surprise. Decor was perfectly Montana. We ate at the Buffalo down the street which was also great. Everything is in walking distance. The danishes and coffee were also an added bonus. Ice and laundry on site. Beds were super comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone. Price was also cheaper than other hotels.
The People of Montana are extremely nice! They also have great recommendations for things to do. 4th of July was amazing as well! Clean hotel, staff are great and again friendly, food is top notch and it is hot (bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy, potatoes, juice, etc).50 ft from DQ, 25 ft from Subway. The room was bigger and better than I thought it would be. Cable channels for days, great location to get out and see things.
This was the worst experience I've ever had with the hotel I have stayed there numerous times in the past with no problems whatsoever this time I was told that I have to put a deposit down because I have a Billings Montana ID well I work in Billings but I live elsewhere. Not only did they want a deposit they wanted a cash deposit! Sounded pretty sketchy to me! I will never go back to that hotel.
Nice hotel with good breakfast located just at the entrance of West Yellowstone gate. Staff were welcoming and the room was convenient with two queen size beds , a coffee maker (Coffee and tea was available at the kitchen 24/7 which is a great bonus) and a refrigerator, We enjoyed staying and visiting this beautiful place in Montana.
Every time we stay in great falls Montana, we stay at the Heritage Inn . The staff are always very friendly, rooms are always clean. The pool is nice and warm, I can bring my baby in there. The location is somewhat central. It is a bit of a stretch to target, and the outdoor waterpark, otherwise it’s close to Walmart, the gas station etc.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel was exactly what you expect from Montana; rustic, western decor with a warm stone fireplace and friendly service. The free breakfast was good and the facility was very clean. The view of the mountains was amazing and we had quick access to so many restaurants & shopping venues.
Nice room, easy to find, great breakfast, with hot selections of scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and also cereal, toast, fruits, and yogurt. Our room was away from the interstate, so very quiet. Montana was starting to swelter, but our room stayed nice and cool.
Bozeman
Second time I've stayed here while driving across Montana. I'd be happy to stay here again. It's a wonderful refresh of the classic roadside motel. Nice rooms with fun decorative touches. The bathroom is huge and very nice. The drive thru (walk-up) coffee shop right next door is super convenient.
This location was just off the highway without the noise of the highway. It was fairly close to the old downtown area which I liked and close enough to Montana State University. About 10-15 minutes to either. Conveniently there’s a newer Walmart behind the hotel if you forgot something for your trip.
The hotel was very nice, better than anticipated and super convenient for the airport. The Montana vibe was a great introduction to the state for our short visit. Heath, who checked us in, was very welcoming which was a lovely way to greet two weary travellers.
Your towels are so soft. They felt just great. Check-in was easy and friendly. Breakfast was good with the normal choices. We felt safe in the area. This hotel is just across the street from the "Montana" which is a great place for dinner.
Bigfork
Communication with us was great and proactive. Rooms was very clean and comfortable. Of the 8 nights we were in Montana, we stayed at 4 different hotels and The Islander had the most comfortable bed and pillows. We really liked it.
location & cleanliness - Rai at the front desk was great! Prices of hotels in Montana have skyrocketed. This was a decent value, though I did split the cost with my co-travelers.
I really enjoy my time there from the beginning to the ending, the staff was very warm, when I come to Montana to visit my grandson again I would love to get the same hotel,
Bozeman
This was the cutest designed and decorated hotel! It was like being in Palm Springs in the middle of Montana. The RSVP will be my go-to stay in Bozeman from now on.
Great location within walking distance to downtown. The Montana club restaurant across the street was great too. Hotel was clean, updated and staff was friendly!
Love this hotel. Very nice and comfortable. I stay here every time I visit my son at Montana State. The staff is always so kind and helpful.
The location was fine but there was a camper parked outside of our room which was an odd experience since we are not from Montana.
Attractive architecture and bright, clean well designed rooms! Wonderfully friendly staff with Montana charm
