The traditionally built, historic wood and stone house Flyhof in Weesen is a family-owned hotel, set directly at the shores of Lake Walen. Quaint historic inn. The hosts were extremely thoughtful and attentive. The whole place exudes warmth and welcome at a slower pace. Very attentive to our dietary needs (gluten free/celiac) and five star food. Quiet room with comfortable bed. Great hiking right out the door. Our favorite stay of a nearly three week European excursion!

In a quiet location above Lake Walensee, the Hotel Neu-Schönstatt offers a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the lake. Free WiFi is available and the Flumserberg Cable Car is 2 km away. Nice view and neighborhood with free parking. Supermarket is not far from the hotel. This hotel is suitable if you have a car. The room is new and very clean.

Seminarhotel Lihn enjoys a quiet location in Filzbach on the Kerenzerberg plateau. It offers panoramic views of Lake Walen and the Churfirsten mountain and free Wi-Fi. Amazing location. The view in the valley is directly visible from the big balcony where breakfast is served. Great breakfast and friendly staff.

In a bike trip across Switzerland with stays in 10 different hotels, this was easily our favorite. Not fancy or at all pretentious. Just super friendly and relaxed with a drop dead view.

On the slopes of the Flumserberg Mountain, Hotel Bergheim is a 2-minute drive from Flums and the Tannenheim Ski Area. Owners were very friendly and professional! Good breakfast and great location

Just 300 metres from the Maschgenkamm Cable Car, the Cristal Hotel is right next to the slopes and a ski lift of the Tannenboden/Flumserberg Ski Area. Amazing location. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Great food!

Set at the entrance of the Glarus Alps, lintharena ag enjoys a quiet location in Näfels. It offers rooms with private bathrooms and cable TV as well as 4 bed rooms with shared bathroom on the floor. Great facilities, if you stay here you can make use of the swimming pool and spa (including saunas for free). Also well located with a bus stop in front of the door, with buses to the Näfels and Ziegelbrücke train stations (for connections to Zürich and Glarus) and to Mühlehorn (for the Walensee). Alternatively it's a 15 min walk to the train station. Also if you stay two nights, you get your train tickets for free from the local tourist authority (make sure to apply for this at least 4 days in advance, search for "ÖV-Anreise Glarnerland").
