The outdoor garden was amazing, the dinner and breakfast was fantastic, and the staff/restaurant servers were so incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. The staff was even able to accommodate a massage with last minute notice. 10/10 experience would definitely stay here again.

A blend of traditional Ryokan and western hotel gives a uniquely pleasant vibe. Room is spacious. Bed is comfortable. It’s new and clean. Location is perfect for those who signed up for Kyoto Marathon (like myself!) as it is only 5 minutes walk away from the finish line. There is a McDonald’s 2 minutes away and quite a few convenience stores nearby. It’s 5 min away from Higashiyama station which is really shorter than what Google map suggests.

Kyoto'nun Sakyo Ward bölgesinde birinci sınıf bir konumda yer alan Giappo Franca Kyoto, Shoren-in Tapınağı'na yaklaşık 1 km, Heian Tapınağı'na yürüyerek 14 dakika ve Gion Shijo İstasyonu'na 1,2 km... Giappo Franca is on a quiet road and still close to everything. When I arrived, the staff were extremely helpful and explained everything I might need to know. Sylvia told me about an art show the hotel was hosting and explained the artist's series of the places in Japan from Tokyo to Kyoto. Very cool indeed. My room was spacious, clean and covered in tatami mats and it even smelled good. I had a Japanese bed and there were instructions on how to use a futon. The bathroom had a nice Japanese bath and nice soaps and shampoo available. There was even a cute little outdoor sitting area outside my room. I had an early flight out of Kansai International Airport and the staff could not have been more helpful in assisting me in finding the best way to get there. Before starting the trip, tadashi-san got really involved with us and helped us with all our questions. He was really kind and helpful. His guesthouse is incredible, an authentic ryokan experience. Please if you are going to stay in Tadashi's guesthouse be polite and kind, he is a really good person and he will help you with everything. His wife Yuki-san is also lovely!

Tadashi insisted on picking me up from the train station, on his day off as well. Himself and Yuki are lovely people and very welcoming. Everthing is meticulously clean and the bed was so comfortable, i had the first decent nights sleep since arriving in Japan 6 days previous. There is a view of a Buddhist temple out of the bedroom window and the neighbourhood where the property is seems safe and quiet.

Love the location being a little bit off the main street but yet still close to subway trains. Walkable distance to Gion and love the quietness of the location.
