Housed in a converted prison from 1837, this atmospheric hotel is found on Katajanokka Island in central Helsinki. Overall a wonderful place in a special way. Tram stop right in front that let's you go around the town. Although, walking to the centre takes 10 minutes. Ferry to Tallinn is just 200m away if a day trip there is interesting.

Located by the waterfront of Katajanokka, Scandic Grand Marina is housed in 1920s Art Nouveau building and offers free WiFi, sauna, gym and a 24-hour on-site shop. Very nice hotel with spacious and well equipped rooms. Spotless clean, comfy bed, excellent breakfast. Very helpful reception. We've stayed there a couple of times due to its location near Katajanokka ferry terminal and definitely will visit again.
