The location is perfect, especially if you are there for the university. We stay there nearly every time we visit our child. We had trouble with the air conditioning system the first night. The maintenance man who came to look at it was absolutely amazing. He couldn't fix it, moved us to another room and gave us a history lesson on the pictures in the room.....AWESOME.

The breakfast was nice. The facility did not look anything like the pictures on the website. The room and building were clean but showed lots of wear. The grounds weren't seasonally ready and the place felt like a ghost town despite being told it was full capacity.

Location is great
Loved having the kitchen
Liked seeing welcome and my name on the tv screen 😀
Seems like a nice place. I was surprised at how many delicious options Big Grove Bar had for vegans and vegetarians and what a cool venue it was. We also had dinner just down the street from the Element hotel our 2nd night there at a very good not fancy Thai restaurant
There were several other places to eat and a movie theater and I believe the parking was free after 6 pm bc the meter wouldn’t take my credit card. There is a Starbucks across the street from the Element but I didn’t feel the need because the hotel coffee was fine ( and I usually don’t find this to be true) and parking at the hotel was convenient and just $15/night.

Iowa City seems built around its University, similar to Columbus, Ohio. The city centre is lovely and pedestrian/cyclist friendly. It feels very safe walking around the city which has retained its lovely country town character in the shadow of the large University. Iowa City offers both country town feeling, great bars and restaurants, excellent scientific museums, and high tech sightseeing around the University. Overall one of my top ranked cities in the US so far.

Three generations of my family lived in Iowa City from the 1930s to the 1990s. It has changed a lot but still has a cool college town vibe with echoes of the past the oldest of us (89) recall fondly. Lots to do, always. Hy Vee! And health food stores and restaurants. I hate the skyscrapers and Oaknoll ate our University Heights neighborhood, but I like the pedestrian malls on and off campus. The train to Kinnick is fun in non-COVID times. We follow the Hawkeyes and read the Press-Citizen daily from one state away, and visit when we can, and will do so till we are no more.

Super cute city with tons to do.
Super cute city with tons to do. There were outdoor activities every day of our stay. Lots of places to eat, places to shop and the nicest bunch if people you could ever meet. If you stay downtown, everything is within walking distance. Absolutely love Iowa City!

We absolutely loved this hotel!
We absolutely loved this hotel! Just walking to it from the parking lot smelled so good! By far the cleanest and most comfortable hotel we stayed in the 13 nights we stayed in during our road trip! And bonus…we got a great rate through Booking.com and paid less than $100 including taxes.

There were plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. It seemed safe. We were there for surgery at the hospital so we didn't stay long but we appreciated everything we needed being close by.
Loved the vibe of this hotel. It was a perfect retreat from a long.road trip. Amenities were great. The sitting spaces throughout the hotel for having a chat and drink were fantastic. If you love something a bit different. With a cool vibe it's a great hotel, located right off of I 80. Very convenient. Had dinner there and it was fresh and delicious.
Super friendly staff, very clean. Huge spacious room that was very nice. Comfy bed, blanket and pillows. Very high end, especially for the very low cost. Tons of amenities. Breakfast was good and pretty excellent coffee especially for hotel coffee. The TV was huge and good quality. Towels were nice and soft.
Ideal location in former Sheraton, right on Iowa City's vibrant Ped Mall in heart of town and steps from campus Convenient to everything. Friendly staff, spacious and comfortable rooms. The decor is eclectic and a bit ... odd, but may appeal to Hawkeye fans.
size of the room was amazing location was perfect staff was extremely friendly i will definitely stay there again i work at a hotel so i noticed things others probably wouldn’t but i didn’t see anything wrong
My wife and I usually stay in this hotel when visiting our relatives in Iowa City. The bedrooms and bathrooms meet our expectations, staff are friendly and helpfull. The location is perfect for us.
The Brown St. Inn is a hidden gem. Walking district to downtown Iowa City in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts were very accommodating and pleasant. Highly recommend!
Ordered room service and it was delicious. This was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in at a hotel, amazing. I loved the staff so friendly and wonderful
