The room was exactly as promised, comfortable and cozy. The Restaurant staff was excellent as was the food my wife and I had. We will certainly be returning to this little gem along the St. Lawrence! We've already recommended The Clipper Inn to friends.

Everything!! Attention to detail (board games, chocolates, all kitchen/grill necessities, fluffy towels), incredibly comfortable bed and pillows, very clean and well maintained but still felt lived in and homey. Felt very safe too as a solo female traveler!
Clayton is a clean town which is very walkable. There are numerous shops and restaurants along the St. Lawrence River.
We chose to eat at the Channelside Restaurant the first night of our stay because it had a great river view. The food was excellent and it was a casual place.
The next night, we ate at the Seaway Grill in the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel, which is where we were staying. The view was nice there, the service was great, and our meals were outstanding. We also had breakfast there the following morning. Those meals were excellent too. Their portions are huge. We both had leftovers to enjoy at home!

It was a beautiful clean town with many shops and places to eat. The views over the water was very nice. The things at shops were very expensive. Even the Amish were selling things that were way over priced. All in all I loved the area.

Clayton has certainly improved.
Clayton has certainly improved. The downtown has been renovated, utilities have been put underground which makes the downtown charming. There are many good restaurants. We ate breakfast and Dinner at the Seaway Grille and the quant Coffee Cove Restaurant.A trip would not be complete with out a visit to Foxy’s Restaurant. There are lots of unique shops in Clayton, such as Carla’s Christmas Shop, Michael Ringer Galleries and the Eagle Shoppe. Clayton has an opera house and one of the best antique boat museums. Clayton is located on the shore of the St. Lawrence River in the center of the Thousand Islands.

Lyrics coffee house has amazing frozen coffees. Been there a bunch of times. Staff is very friendly.
DiPrinzio’s Kitchen has good pizza and really good wings. You can sit out on the patio and watch the boats go by. Staff is very friendly as well.
Koffee Kove has some yummy food as well, but didn’t get to stop in this year. We went there last year. Staff is also very friendly.
I love Clayton. It’s a beautiful little town with so much to see and so much to shop and eat.
The boat museum is pretty cool.

Great place to visit but based on what we saw and heard it...
Great place to visit but based on what we saw and heard it can be quite busy in the summer-time. Lots of touristy shops and restaurants but most close after Columbus Day. Nice state parks with lots of hiking trails and interesting nature centers. Uncle Sam's Boat Tours is definitely worth the price and if you go between Memorial Day and Columbus Day you can see Baldt and Singer Castles. A great place to eat is JK's Roadhouse outside Alexandria Bay. You don't need a car to see Clayton or Alexandria Bay...both towns and all they have to offer can be walked to. Next trip will be after Labor Day and before Columbus Day!

Antique Boat Museum was very interesting.
Antique Boat Museum was very interesting.
Walk along water in village, near many shops is scenic.
Wood Boat Brewery has great pizza.
The ice cream shop and grill has great basic food and ice cream at an economical price.
We've been before pre-covid and it's a lovely hotel in a lovely location. This is our first trip back in over three years and it's still lovely although it seems clear that staff shortages are affecting not only your hotel but many other restaurants and stores as well.
You staff that we chatted with were wonderful, so kind, polite and accommodating and we will be back.
Small breakfast was provided Saturday and Sunday. Coffee was hot and very basic items such as packaged muffins and yogurt. It was a nice surprise but could be improved a million ways without having an actual cooking area to prepare hot items. It was complementary which was nice. Location was perfect. Few miles from from main area of Clayton. Pool area was very nice!
Tiny in town motel in perfect location for Antique Boat Museum and Clayton shopping. It’s an easy walk to everything-brew pub nearby. Rooms are small but nicely decorated and absolutely clean. Staff, including Abby, the long time manager, are friendly and helpful.
This was as expected. Don’t go thinking it is a luxury hotel . It is a rustic experience at a camp-like facility on the river. Everything is old but functional. Either bring
your own food or drive a few minutes into Clayton. In short, we enjoyed it.
The view was beautiful! Loved that we walked everywhere we went. The food in the restaurant in hotel was excellent and very reasonable! Wish fire pit stayed on until 11 instead of 10 but overall we just LOVED our visit!!!
Well appointed rooms; friendly staff; great location in Clayton; good variety of rooms and cottages; Internet is excellent; spacious grounds on the St. Lawrence River, good for swimming and all water sports
The staff is very helpful for any of your needs. Convenient location to Clayton. Easy access to you car from room. Best of all the Clipper Restaurant (Best in the area) is attached to the rooms.
