FAQs about hotels in Chicago

Our Kind of Town

Standing proud beside Lake Michigan, Chicago is down-to-earth, friendly, and full of culture. It has outdoor art by famous artists including Chagall and Picasso, and there are some fascinating architectural works from the Art Institute of Chicago.

Home to blues and house music, Chicago has an eclectic music scene that reflects its spirit. The Windy City is also a pioneer in a variety of Americanized dishes from it's European immigrant roots like deep-dish pizza and the Chicago hot dog.

The world’s first skyscraper and Ferris wheel were erected in Chicago. The latter, on Navy Pier, is one of the Midwest’s most visited sights. Also famed is the ‘L’ transport system, whose raised trains circle The Loop, the main business district. Check out its skyline reflection in the shiny bean sculpture in huge Millennium Park.

Home of the Bulls and Bears, Chicago is a stronghold of sport and has teams playing baseball, basketball, American football and hockey, to name a few. If you get a chance, try to catch a game.

Chicago Midway and Chicago O’Hare Airport are both on the outskirts of this vast city, so make sure to leave enough time for travel from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or hostel. And all that jazz.

Absolutely amazing skyscrapers and architecture! Wow!

Absolutely amazing skyscrapers and architecture! Wow! A must is to take a boat trip on lake Michigan and the canals. Wendella tours offer a 1,5 hour trip with a great guide. Navy Pier and Milennium Park are nice places to see. The Shedd Aquarium was great! Riwer walk, it is very nice to walk along the canal and watch all the buildings. It is easy to just walk around in town. If you want to go more far away there are buses or the elevated train. Michigan avenue (The Magnificent Mile) is very nice with many shops and some restaurants. Good to know is that April is a really cold month and it is always windy. Thick clothes are needed. Try a deep dish pizza at restaurant Uno. But be prepared that it takes 45 minutes to do the pizza. The only thing that we didn't like is that Chicago is very expensive.

I took my 8 year old daughter for a birthday trip (instead of a party). We went to the Lincoln park zoo, the Shedd aquarium and the museum of science and industry. All three were super fun and she had a blast. Great city for families— easy to get around and so much to do.

Such a variety of attractions in such a relatively short distance from each other. Including the children's play area on corner of Millennium Park; Art Institute, Aquarium; Children's Museum, Lincoln Zoo, excellent lakeside trail; and a great breakfast place for kids at Egg Harbor Cafe. Somewhat dissatisfied with the Chicago eating facilities tendency to make us order by QR, without any human contact it seemed. Nando's chicken near the Park was atrocious. And I love Nando's chicken - in London, Johannesburg, Mbabane, Dundee etc! Certainly will put Chicago on our family visits to our home in Des Moines!

Location can't be better, right next to where the river boat tours start, next door to the best roof top bar in Chicago and next to Michigan ave which has all the best shops! There are ice machines and vending machines in the hotel as well as a coffee station on the second floor (I only found that on my second and last day :-( would have been nice to know before). Easy enough to get to and from the airport using the blue line - it cost $3 vs Uber which was around $60-120 depending on the time of day.

The location is a walkable distance to anywhere you want to be in The Loop. The train station is very proximate to the hotel which provides convenience from and to the airport. The breakfast was simple but the ambience felt really nice. Best of all, the staff: Joel, Chris, and Joana were very welcoming. Shout out to Edgar for helping me out, I need to leave a tip for him, but I don’t know how. I forgot to that on my way out because I did not do the check out. Free parking, accessibility to everything downtown, extremely clean rooms with daily room service ouff! There’s too much to say. My experience here felt better than a lot of chain hotels I have slept at. Perfect. I will recommend to everyone I know. And I will only use Ohio house whenever I come to Chicago.

The staff are very friendly. The hotel located in 15 min walk from the downtown area ( Riverwalk, Millennium mile) or 8$ by the Uber. CTA Roosevelt station in 5 min walk from the hotel. If you're like me, transiting from O'Hare to Union station and need to spend the night, this is the sweet spot at the lower end of the nicer hotels downtown. It's cheaper than Hilton, a lot cheaper than the W, but still pretty nice and definitely more expensive than the no-name hotels and hostels. The staff have been fantastic every time I've stayed here!
