The location was great! Quiet area and close to the beach. Great on-site restaurant and breakfast every morning. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable with air conditioning. There was a balcony with great views of the coast. It was close to a food market that had a bunch of little options for easy dining as well as a grocery store near by to get snacks and such for the beach. Truly a wonderful property! I would recommend to anyone to stay here

The space itself was a beautiful studio with huge windows that opened to a little garden. It had a small kitchenette that was fully equipped for meal prep. The host was incredibly kind and had some home made jam and treats for us when we arrived. We had the breakfast in the morning which was wonderful. It consisted of fruits, pancakes, eggs, cheese, yogurts, pastries and more. The host was very kind, she answered all of our questions, made wonderful suggestions for restaurants and gave us some history of the location and the grounds. The studio itself was very clean, stylish, and quiet. I would recommend this establishment for anyone wanting stay on this side of the Sao Miguel.

It was a wonderful and unforgettable adventure. Information on how to access the house was provided ahead of time, which made our arrival very comfortable. The accommodations were exactly as depicted in the photographs and brought us a lot of positive emotions. We had the opportunity to spend time with friends in the spacious kitchen and on the terraces with fantastic views.
The staff was very attentive and sincere. We had a delicious breakfast at the Resort daily. The beach was an integral part of a relaxing stay. Once you become accustomed to a round-about, you'll be fine driving. The city of Ribeira Grande is very walkable too.

Lots of hiking around, great beaches, nice local restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Relatively good public transport to get around. Often cheaper to take taxi to get around than renting a car. In total we spent 4 weeks on the Azores and had a rental car for 4 days, this was one too much. Taxi is great for getting almost everywhere. Public transport is somehow good.

The town has some very interesting historical buildings, but it seems the economic turndown took a lot from its better days. Walking there at night was rather a Lovecraftian experience. It's safe, but it's just that there's not much to do there. But it's a small island and the town is right in its middle and it was very handy for the day trips visiting its different parts.

Ribeira Grande is a fantastic place to stay if you're...
Ribeira Grande is a fantastic place to stay if you're visiting São Miguel. It is located more central than Ponta Delgada while being only a 15 minute car ride away from the airport, so it's the perfect place from which to explore the entire island. An added bonus is that it's right next to the best beaches in São Miguel: most beaches on the island are rocky, the only true sandy beaches are next to Ribeira Grande. We went surfing twice at Santa Bárbara beach, only 10 minutes away from where we stayed in Ribeira Grande. The city itself is fairly small but quaint and has everything you need, including a pretty large supermarket (Continente), some cafes and restaurants, stores, even a laundromat. The only downside is that for vegans/vegetarians it's pretty hard to eat out, but that is true for almost all of the island except a few places in Ponta Delgada.
Very nice place, decorated with taste up to the little details. Great location, super friendly staff, comfortable beds. We were provided with welcome cookies, tea, coffee, bathrobe, even with beachtowels. .Upon arrival, we were given a local map and orientation about the place and then sights. Great kitchen, it has everything you need. It is well organized with separate spaces for each room, the same in the fridge There's laundry service in Ribeira Grande and in Ponten Delgada if you need to do laundry. :)
Everything is amazing about Quinta do Passo: central location on the island with easy in and out, spacious and clean, beautiful surroundings with pool, outdoor shower and plenty of outdoor seating, villas are fully stocked for all your needs and many markets, cafes, and restaurants within 5 min of walking, plenty of towels for bath and pool/ beaches/ thermal trips… I could literally go on and on.
This accommodation in super nice.
Well located, 5 min drive to Santa Barbara beach and Ribeira Grande.
Our tiny studio was very clean and well organized, with everything you need.
The host was super nice, he left us both welcome and farewell treats.
Very unique is the garden with different types of plants and aromas.
The house is big and very pleasant. Ribeira Grande is a wonderful city to be in. It has two nice beaches, one of which, Areal de Santa Barbara, is probably one of the most beautiful in the whole island. There are also several nice restaurants to go to nearby. All in all, we loved to be there for our whole stay.
The hotel has a youthful atmosphere, friendly and smiling guests, responsive hosts. A beautiful red cat who tries to participate everywhere.
Close to the ocean, surfers' beach. In general, a quiet area, next to a pasture with horses.
Classic hotel breakfast - bread, eggs, jam, cheese, meat. Delicious coffee.
We absolutely loved this property. It was easy walking to the beach, pool, restaurants etc.
The kitchen had everything we needed to cook in and it was a bonus having a washing machine. We loved that they had a basket of local goodies filled with local products. We loved the back patio too.
It was a wonderful stay. The place is by the river, a very quiet one-way road, while the center of Ribeira Grande is just around the corner. The house is furnished in local style and is super cute. We were extremely satisfied. Also, the owners always answered questions that arose quickly.
Close proximity to the ocean - stunning beach with wonderful sunset views just around the corner. The property itself is quite modern (guess it’s been built or renovated recently), so it’s nice and clean, although rooms might have been bigger. Overall good value for money.
It is a big, spacious apartment. WiFi is stable. It has a balcony but it’s very small and you can’t use it for sitting, unless you bring kitchen chairs outside. Not even a space for small table. A free parking nearby, but in Ribeira Grande most parking places are free.
Super friendly staff. We had some issues with our flight and they would have tried to move mountains to get us there.
The house is indeed charming and very nicely outfitted. Its not that big and therefore it feels a little bit more like a home and not like a hotel.
Very friendly and helpful staff! The room was nice and clean, the breakfast was good, and there is a nice pool. Although situated in the center of Ribeira Grande, the accommodation is easy accessible and has a private parking.
Really nice place to stay in Ribeira Grande, close to the beach but also to downtown. Clean, big room and very nice and well maintened common areas (shared kitchen and bathroom, living and dining area, terrace)
Amazing hosts and lovely B&B atmosphere. They were welcoming, accommodating, and offered helpful insight into our different travel plans. We would highly recommend this location as a base to explore Azores!
We had really nice days in the Azores and in the hotel. We had a room to street but, even that was actually no problem. The breakfast was also very good. The spa area was also very nice in total.
The hotel was clean, and amenities were open most of the time. The location was central to many places on the island which was its strong spot, and the views of the ocean were also very nice!
Very responsive and helpful host who reacted to every question or request ASAP. The accommodation is in a beautiful location near the beach in a quiet small town.
Location near the center of Ribeira Grande. The host was willing to help fix issues we could meet and keen to pass on advices about our stay on Sao Miguel.
