I would definitely come back and stay at this location. The owners of the place are super nice, the place was clean, comfortable, and so quiet. It was just what I needed to begin the Camino de Santiago. Breakfast was very good, I only wish I could have eaten more, but I tried my best. The shower was nice and the water pressure great. The place is just outside St. Jean, which I liked, it was like a 5 minute walk to town downhill from the house, uphill from St. Jean. It is located right on the corner of the intersection (see picture).
If you need to grab dinner, make sure you grab a reservation ahead of time.
If you need the credential, you can get it in town for a couple euros. There are pilgrim shops around too, where you can buy poles, rain ponchos and jackets shoes, small gas tanks for camping, etc.

Nice new room, in a lovely little town. Super clean and remodeled with updated bathroom! We had a great dinner at the restaurant there, too. Great storage for our bikes.

This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. Our room was right over the river rushing with early-April snowmelt. The sunset and sunrise made for great photos.
The food was incredible, both at dinner and at breakfast. That was quite honestly the best breakfast I've ever had and the gourmet dinner was memorable.
Beautiful, picture perfect, historic ,friendly lovely town with plenty of restaurants and bars / cafes to choose . Easy to navigate and safe to stroll around .town and along the lovely river walk. All shop and restaurants owners were helpful, and often made accommodations for late diners like us. It is important to either make dinner reservations at the busiest & most scenic dinner establishments and/or show up early to order the nightly "specials."
Thursday is the open market day filled with local , farm fresh foods! Enjoyed purchasing from these merchants particularly because I learned more about the surrounding area and livelihood of resdents.

On our short stay we visited the centre of the old town of St Jean Pied de Port and the citadel. The views from the citadel are worth the climb, as well as walking the walls. The Port St Jacques and the arriving pilgrims doing the Camino/Compostella add interest and colour too.
