Truly authentic chateau in the French countryside. Bought local fare from the little village and had a picnic on the property to enjoy its beauty. Breakfast was great with locally baked bread.

My family and I loved every minute we spent at the Chateau de Bellignies. We took a train into Valenciennes, which is a beautiful town, and immediately fell in love with the entire region. The chateau itself is gorgeous and full of absolutely fascinating history, Our rooms made us feel like royalty, with high ceilings, fireplaces, huge windows, and elegant furnishings. The chateau is also run by the most wonderful family, who treated us like family. They are smart, kind, generous, and very knowledgeable about local history--and speak English!
