We were cycling the Danube and had to take a lengthy detour because of a rock fall.Our first choice of hotel was ‘closed’ despite people coming and going from it and even though I phoned the proprietor. Some people leaving the hotel could see our predicament and suggested Pension La Mamma who couldn’t have been more helpful

Very helpful friendly woman running the hotel. Close to town - you need to find the shortcut across the railway track! Good breakfast. Secure bicycle storage. If you stay in Aschach you must stay here. Brilliant.
