Goris is one of the least discovered places in Armenia by tourists. I would say it is the only city with original architecture surviving. The scenery is outstanding and you see greens everywhere you walk. The pointy rocks in the mountains are unique. People are very friendly BUT the taxi drivers charge tourists double! The accommodation is located in a market-like backyard in an old shop, refitted to be a mini studio with a small kitchen, a double bed, a sofa and a seating area as well as a bathroom. Host is very friendly and makes sure you got everything you need and responds instantly via WhatsApp. Ararat supermarket is just across the street. The reception girl is very friendly and helpful, as are all Armanian people. There is also a restaurant, which had fine meals. The menu holds the names of the dishes and if you're not familiair with that, you won't know what you order. So we went for pizza :-) Breakfast is buffet style, with Armenian dishes, very nice.

Very quiet. The Host Mr. Gerard was incredibly helpful and gave me tips for best timings and other little hints about must-see locations in the area.
