We picked this hotel because it was in a small town on the way to Komani Lake but were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The staff were friendly, the restaurant, of which there were very few in town, was good, and the outdoor area was relaxing. The breakfasts were large and when we had an early day to get to Komani Lake, they made sure breakfast was ready for us. When we left, they gave each of us a 200ml bottle of Raki as a gift.

An incredible, unique visit that can become world class with a bit of extra focus and care. You come here for the food and the surrounding countryside, and those are both A+. The room was very basic but fine for a short stay. The restaurant represents amazing value—truly farm to table and delicious. You will be stuffed to the brim (as in, it's too much food) after every meal if you go with the set menu, so be careful—ask them up front to describe all possible options, as you can in fact order a la carte, which they didn't tell us initially. Solid wine, we preferred the rose over their other offerings. Check out the hidden bar near the parking lot. Go for long walks into the hills on the roads behind the property, and keep an eye out for wild tortoises and (at night, in season), swarms of fireflies!

A good location for a stress-free getaway in Koman, Borealis Guest House is a guest house surrounded by views of the mountain.

It was a beautiful right on the lake. The sunset was spectacular and the stars were breathtaking. The rooms were clean and comfortable and even had a mini fridge. Mario was awesome! We really enjoyed chatting with him. The dinner was delicious and we chose fresh caught trout. The location was ideal if your taking the koman ferry. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The farm itself is a beautiful oasis, surrounded by fruit trees, a small garden for growing vegetables and flowers. The presence of friendly animals further enriched the experience. The breakfast was simply delicious (fresh milk, butter, homemade jams and cheese). Our experience at this local farm was incredibly positive. The combination of warm hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and excellent food made for an unforgettable stay. We highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a serene and welcoming escape in Albania.

After travelling for around a month in Albania, this was the nicest room (at this price point) we have stayed in. Beautifully designed, clean, comfortable, excellent host and great breakfast. Puka is an underrated town well with a short stop.
