Easy check in - friendly staff, free secure parking and good accomodation, including excellent breakfast. I ate elsewhere the night before but it was not a problem to have a relaxing drink amongst other guests having food once checked in.

Superb location for visiting the Scarborough Spa Theatre. Hotel modern whilst keeping the old features intact. Staff very helpful. Breakfast good but having visited many times over the years we believe their is not as much variety as previously (fresh fruit etc)

We have just come back from a one night stay here. We had such a chilled weekend the room our nice and cosy and the bath I didn't want to get out. It was just the break me and my partner need before our wedding.
Ann-Marie was so lovely and welcoming.
We will definitely be back and we would recommend. It not to far from the main centre.
Thank you for such a lovely stay ❤️

There's plenty to do that we didn't get around to.
There's plenty to do that we didn't get around to. Not much to do in the rain but we were lucky with the weather. Would have loved to go to the sealife centre but the tickets are too expensive. The beach is lovely, the family fun is great. It's everything you expect from a British seaside and more. There's not a great variety of places to eat if you want a nice meal but there's a plethora of fish and chips. Highly recommend the lifeboat fish and chip shop, all cooked fresh to order and very tasty. Next time we will spend more time at Scarborough Spa and the hills surrounding it. I have been going to Scarborough for 30+ years and never knew there was another cliff lift down there. We went up to Scarborough Market for our breakfasts, there are 2 cafes and we much preferred the one upstairs, the food was cheap, kids breakfasts were absolutely ideal for my 4 year old everything was fresh and so tasty. A cup of tea is only £1! Where can you get that nowadays?

The beach is lovely and there are loads of places to eat. it has a superb market with a cafe upstairs which was excellent for a light lunch, comfortable seating too.for those who need it there are cliff lifts as it is steep at times.
Excellent hotel. Great location and short walk to the beach. Room provided was huge, and the hotel very accommodating to provide a z bed for an additional family member. Exceptionally clean. Good bar and the breakfast included had an impressive selection (and this is great for us as vegetarians). Also given a parking disk so we could explore Scarborough without the worry of fines/moving the car. Highly recommend.
The breakfast was tremendous and delicious! I even come back for dinner each evening, and it was above my expectations! Relaxing pool and Jacuzzi was just what I needed and the pool was heated too! Location was so good.I was able to walk to practically everything I wanted to see! Yes, you could say this was the best vacation I have ever had and the experience with the hotel was of expert quality!
This is a well located family run hotel on the Esplanade along Scarborough's attractive seafront. Staff were very helpful and let us store our bikes securely which is vital for us. The breakfast was also good quality and plentiful. There is a very well run comfortable lounge bar which is unsurprisingly enjoyed by guests and locals together. All round a very friendly place and superb value.
The best of the hotel is the exterior and location, and the Victorian stair and lobby (This hotel is a hotel of two extremes). The exterior is a Scarborough landmark with the views and lift nearby leading down to the coast area - the high street is also nearby.
I would say the hotel very much trades off these glories (but then these can all be experienced without booking in).
Very friendly and helpful team led by Claire.
The property is situated perfect for a short walk to the beach or into town in what I would consider to be the best part of Scarborough.
Parking was easy and permits available. (We managed to park directly outside the hotel.
The rooms are clean and comfortable.
Thanks Claire and team, we’ll be back in a heartbeat, Dan xo
We had a lovely time at the Catania, the small double was perfect for our needs and the breakfast was very good and catered well for me as a vegetarian. The hotel is overlooking the bay and a stride from lots of amenities, Peasholme Park and the best chippy in Scarborough. We shall return to lovely Scarborough and the Catania. xxx
Very friendly hosts who took time to chat and asked about our day. Lovely breakfast, fresh and ample and catered to everyone's needs. Parking was available just outside the hotel and they provided us with parking cards. We would definitely return to this hotel when we visit Scarborough again! Thanks Paul and David!
I came to Scarborough to visit family, I don’t like to impose so usually book a hotel.
Though I enjoyed my stay, I was disappointed the swimming pool was no longer available, also the hotel is a bit dated and could do with an upgrade.
The team at the hotel were excellent and couldn’t do enough for guests.
It's location is near the beach, really good location as you can walk from the hotel to some of the famous tourists spot
Exterior of the hotel was really great. Looking from the outside, the hotel looks posh
I booked a room without window but it's very nice of them to give us something with one
The room was fine and the buffet restaurant was good. Having lived in Scarborough some years ago, I enjoyed being back in familiar territory. I had stayed at the Royal during New Year's Eve in 2007. We stayed at the "NOT GRAND" a year ago and it was TERRIBLE so happy to be back at a nice hotel
The apartment exceeded our expectations, clean, warm and welcoming, walks from the apartment were good, lift down to the beach 5 minutes walk away , the south side of Scarborough has lovely gardens to stroll down to the beach, all within reach of the apartment .
The staff were all very helpful and friendly, receptionist, bar staff and housekeepers.
The room was bigger then expected with everything we needed and very clean. We've been visiting different hotels in Scarborough for years and this has been our best stay yet.
I have stayed here before so knew what to expect. Having stayed in other budget hotels in Scarborough I have found the New Southlands Hotel to be the best in terms of the room and cleanliness. Location is great and all went well.
First small single room had sunny disposition on first floor, two reception men were kind enough to move me to another double room that was spacious. The hotel was opposite a sports bar and only a 15 minute walk to the beach.
Absolutely everything, Immaculately clean, great friendly staff nothing too much trouble. By far the best Hotel we have ever stayed in. Breakfast amazing.
