Ocean Coast Hotel at the Beach Amelia Island, hotel in Fernandina Beach

Ocean Coast Hotel at the Beach Amelia Island Amelia Island in Amelia Island provides accommodation with free bikes, an outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court.

Fantastic location, just across the road from a gorgeous beach. I was really nervous having read the recent reviews but I think sometimes people have insanely high expectations but are not willing to pay! Yes the hotel was basic but for the price what do you expect? It was clean, staff were helpful and the location was amazing. We had plenty of toiletries so I’m unsure why so many people say they aren’t provided. We didn’t use the pool so can’t comment on that. Breakfast was fine, I was just grateful to have something included when we were paying less that $100 a night for a family of 4. The cereal was more than enough for us. Yes it is a budget hotel but it is also charged at a budget price…you get what you pay for and we would 100% stay again.

Beautiful white sand beaches, not too crowded and the area around the beach isn’t a gaudy tourist trap. No boardwalk filled with crap. Very family oriented and safe. Decorum and class haven’t been shoved aside for the masses like at more well known beaches. Moms won’t have to cover juniors eyes on the beach.

beach very nice. very poor city planning.

beach very nice. very poor city planning. The houses on the beach area all on Hwy A1A and very close to the VERY busy and noisy road. It is actually a dangerous road...too close to houses and people speed. the downtown was fun....great restaurants and the Amelia Island boat tour was great.

Like the location, not too crowded, traffic is good, lots of places to eat. Road biking and trails are a plus and love the downtown area and thrift and antique stores. Not overly commercial really feels like a residential area, not touristy.

We love the historic areas and the quaint downtown shopping. The beach is 5 minutes away and there is golf for anyone interested. Also, we took a boat trip from the harbour to Cumberland Island which was very informative. Fernandina has excellent restaurants too.

Way bigger than a hotel. Close to almost every thing.

Way bigger than a hotel. Close to almost every thing. Washer, dryer, and dishwasher were welcomed. Felt safe. Some website info did not match. Videos about how to check in were helpful. The no pets policy not enforced. White cat hair on rugs, carpet and/or floor. Inspection notification came a day after the inspection. Facilities fellow and inspector just walked in with no knocking. Facilities guy thought the place was unoccupied. Communication glitch.

it has lots of historical information and things to check out the museum of natural history that is housed in an old jail thta has recently been redone just a little bit but its still authentic and they have a historian lead tour i think saturdays its worth checking out. if you are a person that likes to sample spirits there is a place called marlin\barrel that does tastings daily everything they provide you is made on site the vodka in particalar is super smooth and nice. for food you have to check out moon river pizza you think you know the best pizza just try theirs. lots of good shopping downtown. I know this will sound strange but there is a Walmart there that is not a super Walmart not a marketplace, but it is the size of a Walmart store when they first opened and it just takes me super far back to see what i grew up with to what i have now if you find this Walmart i highly recommend you go there for a time warp back to the 90's lol if you are into that.

We’ve stayed in three Hilton hotels in recent weeks, including two Hampton Inns. One, in Portland, Maine, was great. This hotel, which is near Amelia Island but not on it, was mediocre. Beds were hard and air conditioning noisy. Breakfast was substandard. Why aren’t Hilton hotels consistent? Isn’t that the point of staying at a chain hotel?

The hotel's location was truly idyllic. Just steps away, a delightful selection of restaurants to explore. Beach access was a breeze, allowing us to spend carefree days soaking up the sun and sand. To top it off, the hotel offered a refreshing pool and inviting hot tub, perfect for unwinding after our adventures.

Room was so small, you couldn't move around with 2 people without stepping aside. Fridge cabinet door broken. Musty smell. So musty, carpet and sheets felt damp. Stayed only 1 night and cancelled remaining two nights because we hated the room. Booked another hotel for remaining 2 nights.

We liked the "beach cottage" atmosphere, with the raised walkways to the cottages. Also, it feels more private than having to walk through a hotel/motel lobby.
