I loved the richness of history and grandness within the building and commend all the renovation works. Friendly and helpful staff. The gardens were lovely and relaxing with lots of places to sit. I had a good sea and garden view from my bedroom and the best bit was real windows opened.

The cleaning lady who lets us come in early even though the owner/manager said we had to wait another 3 hours. The room was ready earlier.
Conveniently situated on the Bath Road, with a large car park and entrance with all amenities on the level.

Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.
On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.

Bournemouth is my favourite place in England to take some rest from London duties. I love absolutely everything in there; sandy beaches, landscapes, hospitality, people, pines, cliffs... the only one problem is to find a parking place during the weekends and summer holidays, but if you look around a bit, it's doable, not really at the beaches but within a mile. Actually, it's good to have a walk, so for me personally it's not an obstacle to come to Bournemouth at any time. I visit some favourite places in that area also in the winter and I always step into the water, no matter what. I would definitely recommend Bournemouth as a lovely place to relax.

Excellent transport system - frequent buses which ran to time. All the main facilities were within easy walking distance. People were welcoming and friendly. Lots of interesting places to visit and things to do. There were several good restaurants, we liked Zizzy’s best, for range and quality of food and service

Lovely buzzing seaside town with great amenities and safe beaches. Food very expensive at seaside areas, hard to go economy with kids in tow. Bournemouth pier is always lovely - really good toilet facilities at the beach - would be helpful to have some water taps at beach/beachfront juncture to wash off.

Hotel and staff perfect.could not fault them in any way Especially the reception staff..Big big Thankyou to. Kimberley..Louie and Sasha. For all the lengths they went to.to ensure everything was more than satisfactory for me..
Location is the best location near beach and Bournemouth centre or garden. My room was on top floor family room which was nice but the lift was out of order I have to take my luggage up to the top floor, The staff was too busy to help me. The room was a bit small in size despite of three people. The price is a bit overprice it is more than the 4-star hotel price.
The hotel was overall very clean and refurnished with british lovely decoration.
The staff was kind enough.
if the price is lower I will come again.
Thank you
The location is excellent, close to the pier, beach, big wheel, lower gardens, shops, food outlets, bars and entertainment. Was a great price compared to some of the other hotels. The hotel has a lot of history and was the 1st hotel built in Bournemouth and opened on the day of Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838. Has been classed as grade 2 listed since 1974. The spa facilities are really good and for £5 for 24 hours is really value for money. Pool is great to cool of after a hard day sightseeing.
the breakfast was always freshly cooked to order ,although the choice of hot food was full english or cooked vegan, it was the best cooked breakfast that ive had in a long time. Because of the glorious weather it was really nice to be able to sit in the garden after the long walk to the beach center of Bournemouth. The staff were always chatty and helpful but their knowledge of things local to the hotel was limited. It was nice to sit in the bar area at the end of the evening to have a quiet drink
Large ensuite room with sea view was dated but spotlessly clean, facilities included a coffee pod machine, fridge and safe which was a bonus. Located close to the town and seafront with convenient parking in BIC centre, the Crab restaurant which is part of the hotel is excellent, as was the breakfast. All staff members were very polite and helpful, this is now becoming a rare feature.
The room was bright, recently updated and comfortable. The location was very good, easy walking down to the beach and boardwalk in Bournemouth as well as to restaurants and other entertainment. The parking was right behind the hotel. I loved that the hotel was dog friendly even though we didn't have our dog with us. There was live music in the lounge in the evening.
I expected it to be a very historical old gem and it definitely was, being the oldest hotel in Bournemouth it has a great charm and a characterful building right next to the Russel and Cotes Museum which was really special to visit. My room had a sea-view and that was definitely the best part, being able to gaze over the harbour and sit out on my balcony.
We had a wonderful stay at this Hotel/guest house it was very quiet and comfortable, ideal place to stay if your working away, Sue the host/owner was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was top class, slept very well after a long journey, parking was not an issue plenty of spaces out front and not far from the beach, very nice old style building .
We found the staff to be friendly and strive to give good service.
The room was very clean with adequate facilities.
Location has views over Bournemouth beach and pier coming up the hill is a challenge but good for you.
Hotel listened to feedback and positive response.
Staff very helpful with check in / out information
There is parking on site.
Was my first visit to Bournemouth and absolutely loved it. Will definitely be staying here next time we visit. Beach is only a five minute walk away, spa treatment was lovely, wish there could’ve been a birthday discount or something though. Staff were friendly and bar staff very chatty. Lovely atmosphere to sit and have a drink.
The position of this hotel is ideal for Bournemouth Town centre and the beaches. The staff are polite and helpful. The food is good. The rooms are very warm but fans are provided. Everywhere was very clean. The toiletries in the bathroom were nice. There were lots of tea and coffee sachets with nice biscuits and bottles of water.
My first experience with Capital One Hotel was quite good from first minute being welcomed by receptionist Jamal, very professional and friendly service. The location is great, because it has a stunning view being close to the beach, Lower Bournemouth Gardens and the best view points. Central Shops are close to the hotel
The hotel was stunning inside with its period features and we received a very warm welcome from the owner.. The location was perfect as it's just a few minutes walk to the beach and a twenty minute walk to Bournemouth town centre. The onsite parking was a bonus too. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
The location is good for Bournemouth. Easily walkable to the city center, could be closer to the beach. I came during an August heatwave, so most things were booked and the town was crowded as expected. The town was lively and the hotel was standard and as promised.
The hotel is decorated to a high standard with a lovely garden, restaurant and common area. The staff are friendly and professional. The breakfast was a good price and enjoyable. The hotel is in a good location for both the beach and the centre of Bournemouth.
Absolutely amazing hotel....the decor is so quirky...incredible
Very clean with everything we needed for our stay.
Beach is just a short walk away.
If you like something different this is the place to stay in Bournemouth
The best hotel that we’ve stayed in, whist in Bournemouth. Perfect location for the BIC & beach, the former being why we regularly come to Bournemouth. All staff were lovely, full English breakfast delicious!
Charming hotel in a good location for beaches and Bournemouth city centre. Reception staff very friendly and the room was very big with a super comfy bed.
